socket head bolt was created by 9er rider
I have a late model rear brake caliper for a 79 1000 B 3. Ive gotten it all cleaned and purchased new pistons, and new seals for front and rear brakes and mc Im ready to gun coat and have a happy rebuild with frame repairs and powder coat.all except 2 socket head bolts for rear caliper half's are rusty and look bad, and painting them wont do. does anyone have the part numbers for the 2 socket head bolts 10x45 1.25 thread? Ive been to all the businesses here on the western slope, even caterpillar, komatsu, Kawasaki, yamaha, honda, and they all look at me as if i have 3 eyes. Ive had 3 eye surgeries, 3 mini strokes, but so far havent been able to pop that third eye out to get eye to eye with anyone, all I want is 2 new bolts. Does anyone have any information that might help?

Not sure what the issue is. You may not find 45mm length but that size will be at any hardware store. You may have to cut to 45mm. Otherwise purchase the Kaw OEM part from Partzilla. Will be more pricey but fit perfectly. 43033-005 BOLT,REAR CALIPER $5.72 each, yikes I'd cut em. You should be able to get that same size for 1-2$ at the hardware store.

Edit: apparently the bolts you need are discontinued. See below...

You can do rudimentary zinc plating at home for cheap. There are dozens of different tutorials on-line. I've got a Caswell's Plating zinc plating kit and it works great. Price is prohibitive for plating one part (obviously). My point is that you can do some zinc work at home if you can't find the bolts you need quickly.

McMaster-Carr: an everything Industrial supply house. I used to order 2-3 times a week on my receiving dock.
www.mcmaster.com/#socket-head-cap-screws/=10a5kq5 .
Get some hex heads, in that size, get a machinist friend to mill the heads down on each side to fit a socket in.
Drill them out to put 3/8 SAE heli-coils in
There is always a way!

Get a 50mm double nut it at 45mm grind and file the thread. Zinc or SS in that size 50mm will be at any hardware store.

The fine threads are hard to come by. Even harder are flat heads. I used them on my project were ever i could.
Flat head machine bolts, 10mm x 1.25's for the caliper bracket were non existent. Thats why I used 3/8" heli-coils in the picture.

I bought a whole bolt kit from this guy and the price was fair, hit him up and see if he has what you need.
