Sometimes a couple of ordinary flat washers from the hardware store wmill do. If there is a fairly large gap, custom spacers look better, so a machine shop will need to be involved.

I did the wheel spacers, and swingarm pivot bushing for my zx6 swingarm swap on my bike; but your question is pretty open ended there killer. What swingarm are you looking to swap to?

I have washers now (see pics). I am using the washers just to figure out how big the spacers need to be. I have not finalized the exact spacing yet, But when I do, I will want to replace the washers with something that looks nicer. I still need to work at getting the wheel in the center of the bike and in the center of the swingarm.

I bought this bike with a GS arm and a custom or aftermarket brake caliper mount. Because I don't have a stock caliper mount (bracket), I can't follow exactly what other people have done spacer-wise for this swap. The caliper is a performance machine - I think the mount might have come form there too - but I don't know for sure.

For some reason, the person who put the arm on put two washers on the right side of the pivot shaft and none on the left. I am going to experiment with moving the arm over to the right a little - there seems to be room and I have seen others' posts that had one spacer on either side. img_2977.jpg shows the pivot shaft spacers on the right near the brake linkage.

I am lucky enough o have a lathe in my shop. I take old spacers and turn them down to what I need.
