z750E Frame Number
05 Oct 2015 11:53
I have my 80 Zed up & running, now I need to make her legal. The process just got a little more difficult this morning when VTNZ who do vehicle testing could not find my frame number in their database. I just want to confirm the number looks legit and conforms etc. It reads KZ750E-009505. I spoke to the PO this morning, he had it in his shed for 10-15 years as a non runner and said it was in that state when he got it off "an asian fella" not much help there!

Yes...that appears to be a valid, model appropriate frame VIN. This comes from
www.zedder.com
(then click 'bike info'...then find your bike/model by cc). The overarching issue may be that in 1981/1982 Kawasaki went to a 17 digit motor VIN from your current 13 digit motor VIN...this freaks out insurance and registration groups. :)

Definitely a legit #
I got KZ750E 006108
Strangely enough kawasaki.com doesn't like that # but my Canadian insurance company and vehicle MOT didn't have any bother.
