I've been doing this for ever. Can't seem to find it when I need it. No matter, it doesn't cost anything. I take a piece of 1/2" clear tubing and a 3/4" piece of 5.16" fuel line, cut a slit in the fuel line to fit over the cable sheath, slide the 1/2" over that and instant cable lube tool.
Steve

I just lubed my clutch cable so I decided to put it up.

Patton, B) where did you find that? Does Z1E or someone like that sell it?? or Cycle Gear? or??
And do you have to disconnect the cable in order to lube it?
And is that "Dry Wax" spray?? I have never seen that.
Thanks Patton :woohoo:

I had a neat tool like that in the 70's. Trouble was, someone liked it more than I did. This one can be made on the fly. ;)

The cable luber tool is relatively inexpensive and available at various motorcycle dealerships, m/c repair shops, and m/c accessory dealers.
For example: www.z1enterprises.com/ItemDetails.aspx?i...+Tool&item=TU15-8182
Motion Pro is one of the brands offering such a tool
Could also search "cable luber" on Amazon for a variety of options.

Here'a link for more info on Google:
www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=cable+luber+tool

The DuPont Teflon Dry Lube Spray is available at various hardware stores such as ACE, intermittantly available at Lowes, maybe AutoZone, also Amazon (but note high shipping costs), etc.

For example: www.acehardware.com/product/index.jsp?pr...1348&pla=pla_1241348

Here's a link to check out earlier KZr threads relating the DuPont Teflon Dry Lube:

That's cool. $10-12 + $7 handling + postage at Z!E.... I think I'll stick with what I got. I need some new grips.

I was just looking at Z1E, $8 plus $5 shipping. Not too bad. I use my zoom spout oilier for bearings. Works great. I do have to wait a minute or two while it seeps down the cable. Last night I oiled the piss out of it. :woohoo:
