Motion pro custom clutch cables was created by 76KZ900
I have lowered bars on my 1100 Ltd with factory length clutch cable. Looks like I'll need at least 2" shorter cable. My factory one is frayed bad due to cable being too long. Anyone have personal experience with motion pro custom length cable? I've read mixed review's and wasted to hear from someone that used them. Also with putting lower bars on this bike is there a factory cable from earlier kx that would work? Thanks

DO NOT ORDER CUSTOM MADE....THEY WILL RUN ABOUT $45 EACH.
YOU CAN ORDER THE CLUTCH AND THROTTLE CABLES FOR A Z1R. THEY ARE 2" SHORTER.
I CHANGE MY 76 KZ900 ORIGINAL BAR TO THE SUPERBIKE TYPE ALONG WITH THE CABLES FROM A Z1R.

Are you talking about ordering OEM cables or Z1R spec cables from Motion?

Could I get someone to take a pic of clutch cable routing ? If it hugs frame up to guages it's abot 8" to long. Previous owner had it looping out to bottom eye on triple tree.. Which I'm thinking is supposed to be for speedo cable. My factory cable is approx 54" long if that helps. That's the cable not the outer sleeve Thanks..

Are they routed along the back bone, above the tank gusset, then through the top triple clamp behind the head light?

Im not sure what they you mean. It's only my clutch cable. It comes from clutch up left frame tube. I googled done pics to see routing. I really wanted to know if cable hugged frame tight all the way up to triple tree. In pics it looks like it does. My cable will be about 8" to long if that's the case. So I will need a custom cable unless I can find an oem cable that will work.

Like spdygon said, if you order cables from Z1E for a 1980 Z1R they will be 2" shorter than a stock KZ1000. It sounds to me like the PO of your bike must have put what ever cable they had laying around.

Here are the matching throttle cables. Order 2 for push/pull.

You may not have a stock cable. Mine is a little short but workable. Pic of the cable? Does it have the center adjuster?
