Could also consider helicoil or timesert (which are often used to restore stripped out female threads in the engine head where the cam caps bolt into).

guys the threads are partially missing. i could try a die to re thread it but that will make it smaller not sure it will be strong enough.. do you know if the stud is removeable

The studs should be removable so that new studs may be fitted.
Will try to locate a part number.

The studs can be replaced, and I believe you can still buy the correct studs from Kawasaki. See image below and notice they are not marked "not available." Please do yourself a favor and get a decent torque wrench or two so you can properly torque the fasteners on the bike. I have found it makes life much easier than trying to judge by feel when a fastener is tight enough but not too tight. Ed

When installing the axle clamps , after you've replaced the studs , make sure the arrow on the clamps is facing to the front, and tighten the front nut 1st, to the right torque specs, then tighten the rear nut to the right specs, & there should be a gap at the rear of the clamp, but NOT the front of the clamp

Good man. This way when searching it will come up, haven't tried SHT. Are you sure it's the studs and not the nuts? You can get them at any hard ware store.
