correct turn signal stems
23 Jun 2015 06:02
Looking for some advice on correct turn signal stems for headlight bucket mounting on a 76 900. I found 3 different sizes on z1 enterprise, not sure which is right. Thanks

I changed mine 30 years ago so I don't remember how long they were. About 5". They looked like elephant ears to me so I went with the LTD style. They were the same 73-76 I believe.

From the diagrams at Partzilla for the 1976 KZ900-A4 --- 23078-001 BRACKET-TURN SIG LAMP (Qty = 4)
According to the cross-reference there, the 900 turn signal stems were used on a number of 70s models,
mostly Kawasaki Triples but also the 750-Twins & KZ1000s.
The 75mm aftermarket stems at Z1Enterprises.com appear to be correct (shorter stems are available).
I installed a pair of them on my 81 650-CSR a few years ago. The chrome has not held up very good, but I don't know what brand they are --- maybe K&S. ???

Sigh.....
If you blow up the picture and measure the signal lens you can see that the stalk is as long as the lens is across.
This bike is as close to stock as I have seen in years. It should be left alone and used as a benchmark for old Kawasaki restorations. ( but that's not gonna happen!)
Hope this helps in your restoration
