It's done...my 77 model had the hook on it and used those measurements.

I can't comfortably lock down my full face helmets on my 77' KZ1000 with the stock position.... almost useless.

I've never had a problem using it. In fact my 79 kz1000 had it and used it all the time.
U just need to get the buckles in the right angle .
