He drilled out the threads? Not much room left. DAMN, that's another reason PO's suck.

1) find some rear pegs with a long enough threaded shaft so you can bolt them on. You may need to include a bushing to match the peg shaft diameter to the hole.
2) Fill the hole with JB-Weld and then drill and tap the JB-weld. The folks from JB-Weld say you can do this. I don't know how well this would work however considering the load bearing of a passenger.
3) If the current frame hole is really big compared to the the pegs you want to thread in to the hole, perhaps you could JB-Weld in a threaded bushing. Just make sure you plug the threaded bushing hole with wax or soap before you start mixing the JB-Weld,

Nothing lasts, nothing is finished, and nothing is perfect.

The folks a JB Weld say a lot of things. I wouldn't trust it in this situation. I'd rather fill the holes by welding or brazing, then tapping them.

Weld shut, face it with a grinder and drill/tap a new hole.
Or your ither best choice is to cut those off and grab a set off a spare frame and buzz them on

Insert a threaded bolt from the backside then weld the bolt head to the frame. Get some aluminum round stock drill and tap a hole in the aluminum the same pitch as the threaded bolt, screw the peg onto the bolt.

Mine fold back on a angle so they won't break.

What about a T-nut? Insert from back edge and give her a tack?
Got enough room for a timesert? Welding and drilling would be a bitch by hand. But would be your best bet to stay original, this the Z1r?
