Lowering kz440 LTD

I'm really liking my kz440 LTD, but it's still a bit too tall for me. I'd like to lower it a bit, was given a set of shorter rear shocks/springs, but they're slightly too wide (they push in on the chain guard) and way too stiff (hit a bump and go flying). I think they came off a much heavier bike than mine.

Can anyone suggest a decent pair of shocks/springs that would work, but not be too difficult on the budget? Is there any way to lower the front end along with the back end?

thanks!

I had some issues using shocks from another motorcycle for my KZ400 too. Ran into the same issue as you. I needed something a little smaller diameter.

Progressive still lists shocks for the KZ440 but if you're looking for something more budget friendly then something along the lines of this ought to be fine: www.tecbikepartsusa.com/Triumph_Bonnevil...s_340mm_p/t-sh18.htm

However, the specific shocks I linked to are probably way too tall for your scenario, but they worked well on my KZ400.
