1982 Kz250 front drum brake cable removal

I'm attempting to have the cables sent to motion pro to have a custom set made, but can't seem to free the front cable from the drum brake. It is already damaged but I want to send the cables to motion pro in tact if at all possible. Ive played with it a bit, but can't seem to get the cable removed. Any ideas on how to go about this? Once I get it off Im home free but I just don't want to have to cut it. Thanks guys!
