This bike is new to me and I need to replace the tires.
What brand to you guys favor? The bike has Dunlops on it at this time.
Will I have a tough time finding MN90-18 and MR90-18 tires?

I have problems finding tires for my 19' front tire. Not much to choose from. The 18" are more common. Look on Chaparral just to see an assortment, then go from there.

I use Bridgestone Battlax BT45 tires. Here is a Bridgestone chart which includes the KZ1000P. The model year says 82-83 but that is what I used on my 88 KZ1000p.
www.motorcycle-karttires.com/addl_fitmentguide_kawasaki.aspx

I inflate them 28 psi front, and 32 psi rear.

The owners manual for my KZ1000p says to inflate both front and rear to 36 psi. My service manual does not list the KZ1000p but lists tire pressure for various other models where 28/32 psi is most common. When I first got the tires I tried running them at 36/36 psi and had uncomfortable stability above 65 MPH. I checked all the usual stability suspects like the swing arm and such and found no issues. The lower tire pressure helped a lot. Maybe those car like dunlop run flat tires like higher pressure.
Nothing lasts, nothing is finished, and nothing is perfect.

Thanks for the help. I was looking at the D404 and thought that was the tire I would get but reading for about them I'm wondering if they would handle the weight of the KZ1000P.

I'll also take a look at the Battlax BT45 .

I like my 404's. I removed all the cop crap and replaced anything I could with fiberglass. So far no complaints.

I ended up going with the Michelin Pilot Activ . I was going to try the D404 but I read somewhere that they may not hold up well due to the weight of the KZP.

While I'm waiting for them I need to wire up the front turn signal lights as they were disconnected.

Probably a good call if your keeping the weight. I put mine on a diet and so far its lost 100 lbs. with more to go away.

Did you get your tires? If so, how does the bike feel? I have been looking for tires as well but, decided to replace the swing arm on my 94 KZ1000p so I can run a wider wheel/tire combo. Pictures to follow once I complete the swap.

Sorry for the late reply.
Yes, I got the tires and the bike feels fine. I wish they were a little more sticky because I have a tendency to lock up the rear tire from time to time. I guess I'm just use to the 900 lb Goldwing. I have to practice my braking on this bike but it is a nice bike to ride.
