Leaking fron fork was created by ewolpert
So now that my bike is working, I have been riding all over the place. This is fun, but one of the front forks is leaking oil and I need to fix that issue. What do I need to get in order to rebuild the forks? I cannot seem to find a good guide online. Thanks.

Leaking from the fork seals? The forks don't need to be "rebuilt" as there really aren't any internal parts that get replaced. If the fork seals are leaking you just replace the seals, and should probably replace the dust shields while you're at it. However, the fork oil should be flushed out and the internals should be clean. Fork oil should be changed at least every 2 years. Be sure to use the instructions in the Kawasaki Service Manual so you fill the forks to the correct level. Ed

Are your forks tweaked? That could cause one to leak.

swest, I do not believe they are tweaked. They don't look like it. The one that is leaking was barely seeping before, now it is full on leaking and I may have done something to the seal.

I will get new shields and seals, thanks guys.

Also, what kind of oil goes in there?

Fork oil. I have always used 15w Bel Ray fork oil and it works great in my KZ650. Use the Kawasaki Service Manual to learn how to fill to the proper level.

You don't have a front fender. The forks might be out of alignment. Even with a fender, I can tweak them by nudging something. It doesn't take much.
