Looking for handlebar recommendations '79 LTD 1000

I have owned my 79 LTD1000 for about 15 years and I have never liked the riding position. The handlebars come back at a sharp angle and it is uncomfortable on my wrists. I would like something a little more straight, I believe. I think the rise is about right for me but it is the pullback, or more accurately, the angle of the pullback that always has my wrists cocked sideways. I was thinking about superbike bars but with this style of bike I think that might be a little extreme of a fix. Is a stock KZ1000 handlebar what I'm looking for? What have you guys done?






I'm in the middle of a makeover, both cosmetic and mechanical, and it seems to be a good time to take care of this nagging problem. Thank you for any assistance you could provide.

For maintaining an upright riding position, aftermarket BMW Med Tall Street bars are an option. I installed a Flanders set a while back but have since replaced them w Emgo European bars from Z1Enterprises.com. The Euro bars aren't as low as superbike bars & the Fr Br mc fits better.
The Fr Br mc was level w the Flanders bars.

Do you have a pic with the european bars? I'm looking at the daytona model, which is similar to the european.

Flanders bars are pricy. With cheaper bars, such as Emgos, it's no big deal if you have to try a couple of different sets. The upright riding position of the bmw med tall str bars is fine around town, but for extended periods at highway speeds or bursts of 65+ mph, not so good unless you have a fairing,
Emgo probably has the style, but the measurements could be different.

The Euro bars are angled down a tad, which is comfortable to me. When extending my arms into a riding position, the natural tendency is for my hands to be slightly angled.

I looked around at a lot of bars & narrowed the choices down to:
standard KZ. superbike, european. daytona. bmw med tall str.
