ZR1100 shocks for a KZ1000? was created by richrand
Supposed to fit but Is this an upgrade from my original stock shocks? If buying used, would they be better/same/worse than other options out there in the $200-$250 range?

Are we speaking of ZRX shocks or ZR shocks? I don't think the ZR1100 shocks are rebuildable...so you are still purchasing 20+ year-old shocks with an unknown history.

we're speaking of ZR1100 Zephyr shocks. Rebuildable is plus for sure.

As for the ZRX shocks, what are the length of these? There are some on ebay now. my KZ uses 13.5 eye/eye off the bike (I think).

I've got Ohlins piggybacks on my z100R, they are IIRC about 360-365mm, they are actually for the ZRX1200 but I wanted to lift the rear end around 15mm. I was told that the spring rates are the same for both bikes.
The zr1100 zephyr shocks also look cool but I'd be cautious about spending much on 20 year old shocks, even when rebuildable it isn't that cheap.

Thanks all. I picked up a clean set of 2005 ZRX shocks on ebay. I'll post a pic when there's on. I accidentally spent more than I wanted, but oh well -- they seem to be well regarded and will be a big improvement.
