Turn indicator stems
25 Feb 2015 18:44
Having a tough go trying to find stems for my front indicators. Installing a fairing and need to find stem long enough to clear the fairing. Looking for 10mm threadx4inches. Had to be hollow for the wires. Mahalo in advance.

4" total length?
These are probably about 5.25" L w 70mm between the chrome washer & splines (50mm available).
Z1Enterprises.com --- Turn Signal Stem 70mm --- KS12-1231
Similar to the above but different (75mm & 35mm)
Z1Enterprises.com --- Turn Signal Stem 75mm --- KS12-1218

Mahalo Martin. I talked with those folks and at Z1Parts. No joy. No worries. I have a plan. Little fab and redirection.

Could you possibly use the longest ones you can find and make up the extra length you need by fabbing up a metal spacer (similar to a wheel spacer)? Install closest to the forks so they would be hidden by the fairing......BTW what fairing are you using? Pics?

Its a Maier. I can mount to the headlight bracket. Maybe a tube with a nut welded on one end and a piece of all thread on the other. The wires are the issue. I also will fab some brackets for the fairing. I hate the handlebar attach points. Looking to come off the headlight attach points and the brake manifold.
For some reason when I attached these they went sideways. They are vertical on my computer... :silly:

I like that fairing...........I agree about moving from the handlebar mounts, I believe there will be too much wind steer that way. The only other way I thought about mounting the indicators is LTD style ......on the bars, but your idea sounds workable too.

27 Feb 2015 06:59Okay. Still not sure of the size, but I've seen some short KZ stems on eebbaayy, same as the 1st K&S link but in the 4" L range.. I may have a nos pair --- not sure if I still have them.HBKwaka wrote: Mahalo Martin. I talked with those folks and at Z1Parts. No joy. No worries. I have a plan. Little fab and redirection.

I wish there was a place to actually handle and design as you go the parts versus a pic that turns out is wrong...

Thinkin using aluminum tubing for the fairing mount. Want a four point mount so it doesn't fly off or steer me into the ocean from drag and resistance. :silly:

There are worse places to run into :woohoo: I have used solid 1/2" dia. aluminium bar (I purchased it from my local ACE Hardware) .......might stand up better than tube. Post up some pics when you get it sorted out, looking forward to seeing your solution.
