Fork lowering on a 81 kz1000 ltd was created by Mfulweiler91
Hello, I've searched and searched however I could not find the answer I was looking for. I want to lower my forks, I'm thinking 2" max and I'm eyeballing progressive springs however I don't know if they required spacers as well? Or their just drop in? I have thought about loosening the triple tree clamp and raising the tubes but I would prefer not to do that. Any input is welcome thank you.

Someone was talking recently here, about lengthening a pair of zxr forks by extending the internals and sliding the
tube further out of the leg. Maybe the opposite is possible by shortening the internals (damper rod and spring ) and sliding the tube further into the leg. Or is that just plain stupid?

That may be possible in IMHO but I don't think it would be recommended. I've seen people just use metal spacers and place them on the dampening rod and cutting the spring compensating for preload as well. That option I may very well do as a cheap substitute for now.
