Any chain drive kz z650 , 700, 750 e,l, zx unitrack zx turbo chassis. Earlier and later models may need some alterations to the ignition and charging system.

I'd be asking the question the other way around; the GPz750R1 is one of the coolest 80's twin shock bikes kawasaki ever made, motors are two a penny but the R1 's are rare, but still quite cheap.

I bolted a "82 GPZ motor in a '77 KZ650 frame. Bolted right in. Useing an ' 81 KZ 650 H1 wireing loom and Rec/Reg as a basis for the electrcs. Still working on that.

I don't have a plan and I'm sticken' to it! '77 KZ 650 / 750 GPz custom project in progress

Thanks my daily ride is a 82 gpz 750 r1 . I have a spare lump that i want to put in a frame for a project. The frames are rare here but plenty of other z frames come up cheap enough. Thats why i wanted to know what else it fitted. Wiring is not a problem i just want a frame to bolt the lump straight in. ;)

Anything chain drive 650/700/750, the kz750e is very similar to the R1 if you like the Lawson rep look.

I've seen 7/11 conversions too, so you could into a bigger 900/1000/1100 frame even with some engineering. You won't fit it in a 550 chassis though.

Glad you like the 82 GPz, they are about as rare now as ELR's but at a quarter of the price.

The GPZ 750 R1 i own is one of the best bikes i have had. It just seems to work. Plenty of grunt in the old girl too. I found it very easy to ride and forgiving too. I have had everything from chops, bobbers to Brit classics. They just seemed to have got things right with this bike
