Lower leg stanchions
29 Jan 2015 08:55 - 29 Jan 2015 09:17
Can anyone with a better measuring system confirm the dimensions of the lower leg stanchions on a 96 KZP. I get 56mm diameter and 220mm between.

Why? BTW, there is a fork balancing unit on eBay I've had my eye on. It's for 38mm forks. Mine are 36. $12.50 plus $5.75 shipping. I thought about using thicker O rings but decided against it. 1982 1100 Specter.

I'd use big verniers on that, if you can.
I had a look here but no kz1000P listed
www.fastfromthepast.com/PDF/fork_brace_dimensions.pdf
I have also heard that the spacing is wider on these P models.

Yea i called Fast, He told me as far as he knows no one makes a brace for the KZP. I wanted one when I install the new fender. Now I will modify the stock bracket to work. No worries. Mahalo again

Where on ebay? I am removing the front fender and it is bolted thru the top to a bracket. Worse case I will mod the fender to work. Was looking at all options.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationThe 56mm fork tops is standard for the big zeds, also some big suzukis, you could make a longer ally bridge plate .
Most 'micron' style fork braces are slotted so there is often an extra 10mm available. These guys might even make a one off bridge plate for their 56mm tops:
The original mudguard (fender) mounts have a pressed steel fork brace built in, so it acts as a brace with just a touch of flex, when replaced with a plastic mudguard a fork brace becomes a lot more important.
