I'm thinking of putting forward controls on my kz1000m1. is there any decent kits that i can get? and the forward controls will allow me to both brake and shift correct?

Ma Kaw did make factory floor boards and forward controls. My 83 Z1100 LTD shown below with Kawasaki branded parts. I believe you can snag a set off of Police bikes as well.

Huh. I got both front and now rear sets of those MC Enterprises floorboards. I have basically the folding pegs for highway bars instead of the large flat pads...I'm going to be putting the large pads in the back for the passenger, since I have the setup for it. or maybe I'll put 'em in the front...haven't really decided.

But now I realize the rear brake pad is missing, I just have a flat plate that the rubber pad slides on. Don't know where I'll get one of those, might have to half-ass rig something up.

Check out the HELP line at the auto parts store. They carry odd things like pads for clutch, parking brake levers and such.
