kz 550 new gas tank

Hi guys,
I have a Kawasaki GPZ 550 dated 1981 (should be model KZ550D or D1), and I like to transform in a cafe’ racer.
I like to change the gas tank, the KZ550 LTD is very nice, but I suspect that it does’nt fit.
If not, could you suggest me wich kind of gas tank can I install in place of the original ?
The gas tank of the GPZ 550 dated 1984 can fit ?

hey, im not an expert but i believe 82 would be the last year tank that would bolt right on and since its the same tank. maybe someone else on here can confirm that for you. You scored a nice bike be sure to post some pics.
oh and the stock tank may grow on you, mine did. good luck with it
