z400j hardtail what motor will fit was created by greasemunkie85
Hi I have a UK spec 81 z400j (in line 4) hardtail frame with its original frame to engine mounts in place , what motors will fit this frame ? Z400j engines are hard to come by, z650s for example are more common and appear to have the same mounts

Any help appreciated

Chain drive Z550 (Kz550) will fit. ZX550 should fit. ZR550 should fit. Possibly even a ZX600, but it's liquid cooled.

Z650 is bigger and would require modifications.
1981 KZ550 D1 gpz.
