fork swap

Need some advice have 80 kz750 g1 twin forks are pretty bad rusty crome and pitted alum was looking at a set of 2001 kz1000 forks to swap will it work or what do you recommend. Making a cafe out of it

Anything is possible with enough money. There are some talented guys on here that could make you a new triple tree. If you look to the right of your screen will see a ad for Billybiltit Workshop, he is one of those talented guys.

All I can suggest is to you research. What size is the front tire now and what does the donor front use. Make sue you pick a front end that you can match wheels to the rear as adapting calipers to brake rotor is serious business. If the 2001 comes with spokes and your rear wheel is spoked then life is good.

II know this is not the answer your looking for but hopefully gives you food for thought.

It may be as easy as a bearing swap. All Balls Racing has a nice search feature (link below) to do this thou it will not tell you if the stem in the new forks Is to long or short. I'm putting forks off of a 1991 KZ1000P on my 1975 Z1B and it's just a bearing swap (if I measured the stems right LOL).

I have a 2000 GSX750 front end complete, and including the appropriate bearings to make it bolt on the 750 twin. I also have a 83 GPz750 swing arm converted to dual shocks with the matching rear wheel. Forks are polished and have RaceTech emulators installed.

I was planning on installing them on a 750G twin, but have been thinking about using a spare ZX12 front end instead.
