Steering Lock Set Screw???

Had to drill out the set screw for the steering lock on my 77' KZ1000A. Screw was frozen. Does anyone know what size set screw this is? Want to get a tap and clean the threads.

Nobody has an idea to what size this set screw is I'll try to get some metric taps probably 6mm or less and see what I come up with.

For some odd reason the Kawasaki.com diagram calls that set screw a "Screw,Seat Lock" but as you can see in the diagram is is used in the steering lock. It is no longer available from Kawasaki, but you can get a bag of 5 from www.nwvintagecycleparts.com/search-resul...q=92014-016&st=spart . Ed

Thank you for your response. I saw them on the ebay as all. But I believe it's not rocket science to find a set screw that will fit. It looks to me a 6mm tap. I just thought someone else had ran into this dilemma before and replaced the screw. ACE has a great selection of metric fasteners and should be able to find on there for little money.

It's unfortunate that the diagram doesn't show the size of the screw. Usually the diagrams do for regular fasteners, but not in this case. You probably can buy a couple different size screws for less than a buck each at a hardware store and see which one fits, and you can return the ones that don't fit. Ed
