Will Chain Guard from 750H (LTD) fit 750E (1981)
24 Aug 2014 16:38
The LTD chain guard is chrome plated metal and the 750E's is plastic. My original is distorted and can't find a decent replacement. Wondering if the LTD part would fit. The swingarm is a different part number but that could be for various reasons.

It should - no guarantees though - but may need a little work with a dremel type tool.
I picked up the chain guard in the photo below at a recycling yard a long time ago and am almost certain it came from an LTD. I needed to enlarge the cutout a little to fit the original rear shocks which have since been replaced. The chain guard has holes for 3 bolts but the swing arm on my 1980 E1 has fittings to accept only 2 bolts.
At the time I just needed to make the bike street legal.
Good luck

Humm. Thanks for the info JR. Awesome! Photo and everything. Not thrilled with how it fits though. Looks like it needs to move forward and down, only then the cut out will be further off location.

Ha ha
Yes, I know what you mean. It does look a bit on the long side. Might look better if my chain was at the end of its adjustment
Glad to be of help. You get to see what it would look like before spending the cash .....which is one reason I like this place
Cheers

Well JR, looking online at photos and that LTD chain guard fits just like OEM. Still don't love the look but that's how it is apparently. BTW, photo is not my bike.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationNo eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI think the 550A chain cover is the same as the 750E.
This one looks to be in pretty decent condition. You could paint it.
Here's one from a 750E--- not too bad, compared to many other plastic chain guards.
The mounting holes on this one are in good condition --- same as the one above.
It has a gouge, though.
