Please let us know if you are working on a bike and if so which model. KZ front brakes can be a challenge to bleed if you let air get in the lines.

Regarding DOT-5 brake fluid. What did you do to prepare for switching to DOT-5? How did you go about removing ALL the old brake fluid and flushing the system before adding DOT-5? Are you aware that if you still have any DOT-3 or 4 in the brake system DOT-5 will turn it into Jello? DOT-5 MUST NOT be mixed with DOT 3 or 4. There are other reasons DOT-5 may not be a good choice. Probably the best thing about it for non-track use is the fact that is doesn't eat paint if spilled on it. But let's face it, you should be spilling brake fluid on the paint anyway. Ed

Agree'd with the "ED Statement".

I'll add that it would be nice to know what bike you're doing this on. If it's 30+ years old, might need new lines to facilitate this.

Bleeding silicon-based Dot 5 is the same as with any other brake fluids (so long as it's not contaminated with residue of glycol-based fluid remaining in the system).

Good Fortune! :)
