Homemade Fender Eliminator

Back in the day in '82 I had made my own fender eliminator on my first Z. Just a simple 1/4" thick approx 4" wide piece of aluminum a shop gave me from their scrap bin. Guy even made the bends for me and all I had to do is drill the holes and cut the excess myself. Worked great. My rear fender is was not the nicest example. So I figured I'd give it a go. Here is what I came up with. I used the old rear fender which had a nasty repair weld and cut it back to size. Then I used a 1/8" thick 2" flat aluminum bar for the light. I'm using the original plate / light holder to hold the plate. I was lucky that it fits within the box bracket I made and will use the original bolts/holes of the light.
Total cost approx. $10.00. I suppose you can include the cost of an original messed up KZ fender, In place of the KZ fender I was going to make a panel form a sheet of aluminum instead.

I will have update pictures with it installed once i finish the wiring.

Final assembly. Should have the rear wheel back on in a couple of days to see how it really looks. I may redo another light bracket so the light fits about a 1/3" inside the tail. But I don't want it take away from its functionality so we'll see.
