No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationCould be wrong, but thinking the rotor assembly is permanently combined as a single component and not designed to be taken apart.

Part Number 41080-1027 and relativly expensive as a new part, being $508.74 at Partzilla.

Perhaps a resort to ebay

Yes so it has 7 drilled holes, where it looks like the studs should attatch, so how does this work with "4 bolts hold it to the wheel"?

[strike]I for one have never seen a topic about mating a 7-bolt disk to a 4-bolt hub. For starters I guess I would remove the old disk & lay the new one on top to see if the holes line up. Maybe a machine shop can remove the old rivets & attach the new disk to the old 4-bolt plate?!?1?[/strike]

Edit: The 4-bolt disk has 8 rivets & the 7-bolt disk holes don't line up.

It doesn't. You bought the wrong part. Send it back and buy the correct part. Ed

Most used disks I've seen on eebbaayy have grooves. The stock disk from my 81 650 is grooved as are a couple of used 7-bolt disks. Does the front brake work & is the thickness within spec?

You are wrong. Count again! Your disk is held to the wheel with 4 bolts NOT 8. Forget 8 holes, they mean nothing. Those 8 are the RIVETS that permanently attach the disk to the carrier. You cannot separate the two and expect to re-attach another disk to the carrier. You need to buy the correct unit. The correct unit will have the carrier already permanently attached to the disk. They are one - not two units. They come together. You do not buy them separately. This is not difficult. It is extremely easy. Ed

when i took the bike for a test ride yes the brakes did work, when i took the brakes apart the pads were down to nothing.

I will send the rotor back, i got it new from ebay and it was advertised as for a KZ440C, which i now realize is wrong and will not work.
Now i will just try it with the new brake pads and see how that goes

thanks for the help guys
