First. Does anyone know if you can swap a kz750 four cylinder and a twin's frames?

I've had the 4 for 3 years and no title. Its yet to see the road while ive replaced almost everything. Just found a titled twin for sale for $200. Thoughts? Help?

I should add that the complete bike is a 1982 but i don't know what sub model it would be. No idea on the half bike. Hoping the pictures would help some of you out there tell.

It can be done if you have enough money. Ed

Is the 750-4 a shaft drive model? ... not sure how much it matters when searching for a suitable frame.

Id ay it would be much easier with a chain drive motor,Even then Id look for a 650/750 chassis to stuff it into. ;)

They are both 750s. And whats the relevance of chain vs shaft when i want to only switch the frames, not any of the drive train. More or less I'm asking if they are the same frames. I wish I could just make the Vin switch. But theres no legal easy way to do that that i can figure out.

No the frames are not the same.

Cut both the necks off the frames and weld the one with a title on the other frame. Or get a title for the 750 four, it's possible in some jurisdictions.

I'm pretty sure you will have to split the cases on the 750 four and swap out the shaft drive transmission output shaft to a chain drive output shaft, to bolt it in a chain drive frame.

Alright. Thanks. I'm in iowa. Where its more of a pain then other places. And no one can point me in the right direction ie. DMV, Sherriff's dept, ect.

I think i'm still going to pick the twin up, too good of a deal to pass on.

In iowa you have to do a bonded certificate of title, look that up and you should be able to get it titled legally and correctly without a problem, the states dont like the VT title route cuz they dont get all of your money that way so now they have an easier method if you know where to look
