Finding Brake Rotors 81 KZ 750
15 Jul 2014 20:31
I am having a heck of a time trying to find the proper rotors for my KZ. They are grooved pretty badly but I don't know where/ what to look for without finding extremely expensive rotors. Sorry I'm sure this question has been asked a billion times.

I always seem to find the deeply grooved ones that are over priced. Or the pictures are detailed enough.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationHave you measured the disks to see if they're still within spec? Do the brakes work?
The Fr disk on my 81 650 has wear grooves & just about every disk I've ever seen has grooves scored into them.

They work they are just pretty grooved. I'm not sure if they are within limits or not because I don't know what the limits are. I appreciate the replies guys.

Take a very close look at the rotors. They usually have the minimum thickness spec cast or stamped into them, although sometimes the stamped spec is hard to read (see mine below). Ed

Find a machine shop that machines flywheels, they can check/machine them for you.
