I went with a 41 tooth rear for years just to lower the rpms maybe 150 rs at 60 (or so). It still came outta the hole pretty strong and was happy with it. After the rebuild though I went back to 16/42. Every year I snuck a 15 tooth front on and loved the snappy ness this gave but of course that's too low and I always ended up going back. If I remember right it raises rpms close to 500 at 60 or close to that.
Remember reading several times a 15 tooth was the first thing most changed for the strip and it is fun once in a while.
That's why I went back that extra tooth ...... for the little extra snappy ness it gives.
Some on here have gone to a 17 tooth front but for me it really killed the hole shots and roll on's. What's good about that though is For 12 bucks you could pick one up and try it yourself.
