Does the bike have the stock handlebars? If so, do you plan on changing them?
With the stock bas I would get the $24.95 oem cable in Patton's eebbaayy link.
Z1Enterprises.com is a good place to get parts for the bike; if unsure of something, ask --- they're usually pretty helpful.

Partzilla is showing its unavailable and ebay has shown me correct part numbers but in talking seems it's a generic fitment cable. I've heard great things about Z1 though. I'll send them a pic and see what they think. The handlebars are definitely not stock, though the manufacturer has been lost over the various owners who've contributed to it being in such sad condition. The controls are stock at least. I'll post some pictures later. A cable can't be that hard to find for this bike. If the cable weren't cracked and rusted everywhere I'd try to just restore it. Thank you all so much for the time!

Ha, rather than continue the search I went with patrons eBay link. I had the guy send a better pic and its got the plastic housing. Back on track thanks again the awesomeness of you all. Thanks again and I'll post pics of the bike when it's not just a frame and engine.

With lower handlebars the stock throttle cable will probably be too long.
Too long won't hurt anything, but it might not look right.

Just out of curiosity, what would you reccomend for someone who has lower bars? I have some lower bonnie style bars on my h3, and like you said they work fine, just don't look quite right.
Whip it like a mule!

I don't have a suggestion for a specific throttle cable. What you can do is disconnect yours at one end & figure out the overage, then estimate what length would be good. Z1Enterprises.com includes the measurements with their cables (overall length & amount of slack). A little excess slack is probably okay, but less slack than stock may not fit right.... don't ask how I know. doh.
