Hi Folks. I recently bought a ZN700 cheap. It will start and run but it's rough. It looks like it's been left outside, drug down a dirt road upside down, or both ! I've taken the gas tank off and removed what was left of the back fender. It's had a bath so now I can see what I'm working with.
The bike has had to many parts removed to restore it to what it was. So I was looking at doing a bobber, cafe, or a combination of the two. One idea I have is to put a KZ 1000 "square" gas tank on it. I was wondering if one of those would fit on my frame. The ZN frame looks a lot like the KZ frame except for the drop area at the seat. Actually the same year KZ frame has the drop area too, except the ZN tail section sweeps up. So it looks to me that the tank might fit.
For now I would like to keep my air box, score some side covers, go to some regular type KZ handlebars, and fabricate a rear tail section.
