Shaft drive Q's
17 Jun 2014 12:07
This question, will probably have the knowledgeable members here, rolling on the floor with laughter.......
But I'm going to ask anyways...LOL
Can a chain drive kz650 engine, easily be converted to a shaft drive engine ??
I've never been into a shaft drive to see how there manufactured, and am wondering if it's a simple gearing thing on the end of the trans output shaft.
Sorry if this is a ridiculous question. But I always say, you never know if you don't ask...

I don't think it will be easy or inexpensive. It might be able to be done with some donor bits from a Kz700/750 shaft engine but the frame for the shaft engine is significantly wider due to making room for a much bigger driveshaft compared to the width of a chain.
