brake caliper rebuild failed was created by karoliens
Greetings,

I rebuilt front brake caliper and cleaned rubber seal and dust cover with degreaser. And dust cover expanded so that I no longer could fit it into caliper. Is there any way to minimize it? I tried heating but no luck. Because rebuild kit for one caliper is 20$ or more plus shipping. Are the GPZ calipers same as KZ? Thanks.

Be smart & buy the rebuild kit, you don't want to take a chance with bad parts on your brakes, ESPECIALY your front brake

You should bite the bullet & get the rebuild kits.

As you should know by now, there is some uncertainty here in the USA about which model you have.
Did you ever figure out if your 83 750E is more similar to the earlier 750Es, the L models, or what?

In regards to the GPz you need to specify which one - the KZ or ZX.
From the info at Kawasaki.com: the KZ750E/L & R1 GPz models have the same rubber parts.
The ZX750 piston seal is the same but instead of a dust seal, it has a piston packing.
