reinstalling rear tire
19 May 2014 09:58
Installed new sprockets on My 93 kz 1000 but when I placed the rear tire behind the frame, the components on the axle are about 3/4 inch too long to fit onto the frame. Took it out, checked again , seems to fit together but still, 3/4 inch too long inside. What am I missing? Thanks in advance

It's supposed to look like this
It came apart, right? and you don't have any "extra" pieces?

Is the cush drive flush with the wheel? Possibly the spacer inside the cush drive is backwards??

Bearings did not come apart, and no extra pieces..
Looking at the wheel:
the left and right sides have the same spacing between the aligning guides and the tire, it seems like one side should be flushed/or without a gap between the aligning guide and tire buy it all fits by hand as is. I don't know what the cush drive is, but the rubber that fits inside (left and sprocket side) where the sprock mounts the wheel is flush...

Could you upload a photo? The "cush drive " refers to the rubber between the sprocket and wheel. Something has to be in backwards or something.
Mine:

Yep backwards.
Tires in, chains cut. Everything looks good. But, anyone have the diagram for the clutch assembly? Replacing the front sprocket cover, seems to line up but wanted te double check the position of the piece that holds the clutch cable end. Bare with me here, I haven't found a manual yet. 93 kz 1000 p. Thanks again folks
