spoke hub fr a zx wheel???

anyone know of a company or fabricator that makes a zx6 hub for a spoked wheel?? would love a plug-n-play rear spoke wheel for my bike any guidance in this rea greatly appreciated

Nope.....That is why I had to make mine from scratch. The ONLY thing that might work is if you find a spoked rear wheel from a Kawasaki ZR1100 (Zephyr 1100) from Europe. They did not get spoked wheels here. Everybody if looking for them. They are still available from Kawi through a European or Japanese dealer, but they are like crazy money. Good luck!

I'll try and find it but a guy posted from a Kawasaki forum on face-book was having his done, he sent me the site that's turning his busa wheel into a spoke'd hub. As for getting a kz hub set up it isn't that big of deal to make it fit and centered. Could probably do it thru the mail so to speak.

Les may have the right idea about using a stock KZ hub and adapt it to the swing arm. He is purdy smart you know....

That is a cool site! What are your thoughts in not having a Cush drive? That was the biggest issue with the wheels I built. I spent a lot of time machining my Harley Davidson IDS to work with a ZRX1200 sprocket. Was thinking with the HP and bike weight, would cause more harm than good if I went Cush less....

I don't see it a problem till you're throwing tons of power at the wheel all the sudden like a drag bike and even at that many of them are running solid drive without issue. I'm going that route myself.

Understood. I decided to do the Cush because pretty much every Japenese bike since the beginning if time uses one and it easier on the trans, etc....

Would have been much easier not to.....

Ram,

If you are not worrying about a cush drive, why not just build one like I did? Not to sound this way, but here is what you would do.

- Find a 40 spoke, wide glide Harley Davidson rear or front (if front, has to be dual disc) aluminum "spool" hub on Ebay. They can be had for like $50. Get a 200 or later hub as they use standard 52mm bearings. Swap out the bearings with the appropriate ID bearing which for your ZX6 would most likely be a 52 x 20 x 15 sealed roller bearings. You will need to have a new inside bearing spacer cut out of the appropriate size tubing. The HD hubs are symetrical, so then you simply need to center your wheel and determine the right length axle spacers on each side with your rear caliper bracket in place.

- Next you will need to have some simple solid aluminum rotor and sprocket adapters cut. They will be aluminum discs with the Harley ID and bolt pattern (2.10" center bore, 5 x 3.25 (5/16") if using front hub or 5 x 3.25 (7/16" sprocket / 3/8" rotor if using a rear hub). You will just need to set the spacing appropriate for chain alignment and rotor to caliper alignment.

- Call up Buchanan Spoke & Wheel and have them make you a custom spoke kit (approx. $150 for the kit) and drill you up either a Excel Anodized rear 17" hoop or Excel Chrome 17" hoop in whatever width you need for a 40 spoke HD drilled pattern. That hoop will run you about $300-$380

The hardest part of all of this will be getting the aluminum spacers and adapters spun up on a lathe and cut for your spacing. I am sure for some $$$ Les or Leon would be willing to do it for you if you provide the dimensions. Heck I would do it for you, but I have too much on my plate right now trying to finish up my bike. All I have access is manual equipment while they probable have access to CNC which would be faster.
