Wheel swap questions. 80 750.

Hi guys. Just joined because I have no idea where to look to find specs on these bikes. My specific question is dealing with wheels. I have a 1980 Kz750 4 cylinder. It has the mag wheels, and I want to swap on the spoke wheels. Most of the wheels I find on ebay or wherever state that they're for 76-79 or something. What's the difference? What do I need to do or get to make them fit. I'm no stranger to fab work. In fact the bike in question is a far cry from stock. The wheels just have me stumped. I can't seem to find any new wheels on the Web that fit the bike either.

So if anyone could point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated.

Hello Ficarra-I know the front wheel from a 82 750 CSR will fit-the rear wheel from the CSR is a drum brake-maybe you could go with a 750 B model rear, it is a disc but its a 18 inch- maybe you could lace a 16 inch rim to the 18 inch hub. hope this helped, good luck!
Bikes I own,76 KZ 750 Twin-79KZ750 Twin (6700 actual miles)-83 KZ 750 K1 belt drive chopper

What 750-4 do you have? Ltd or Standard?

The closest match is probably the 81-82 KZ1000-M CSR. Those models have 48-spoke aluminum wheels, dual disk Fr Br & Rr disk Br. The 1000-CSR has leading axle forks & the same Fr axle as the 750H-Ltd. Until getting a definitive answer, you could do some parts comparisons at Kawasaki.com to see how close everything is.

Note: the 750-CSR Twin wheels are different from the 1000-CSR, but I have no idea if they'd be a good match or not... certainly not the rear, though, since it has a drum brake as mentioned.
