Shaft drive (final drive) fluid needed ???

What oil/fluid should be used on a 1100 Spectre ? I want to go with AMSOIL synthetic, but searched several sights (in vain) with no, or mixed results. Last I seen was 80W-90, but needing to be hypoid ? and what GL classification is required ?

I would prefer a Kaw technician, or former technician response, or someone REALLY into the shaft driven bikes, as the wrong oil will tear it up internally (over time).

You can use the same gear oil as an automotive application.
Just remember synthetic oil.s seem to find any leeks more readily.

the original manuals of all 3 my kawasaki shaftbikes,GT750, KZ1000ST and KZ1300, mention the same oil for the final gear case oil

API GL-5 Hypoid gear oil.
sae 90 above 5 celsius
sae 80 below 5 celsius

it should not be so difficult to get, over here the local bikeshop sells it..

What he said. My '84 ZN1100 LTD Shaft uses the same thing. I get the oil from the local automotive parts store. I change mine every two years even though it still looks clean. 80,000 known miles on the bike and still running great with no leaks from the shaft drive unit.
