headlight brackets removable?

i have a 79 kz400 and want to remove the headlight brackets pictured below ,it feels as if they are just sleeves with the brackets attched but figured i better get a second opinion

Yep...just sleeves...you'll have to drop your fork tubes, remove wheel, etc.
