Kz750 fork stem covers

Will an 80 kz750 E fork stem bearing cover fit on my 79 750 twin . I don't know what differences there are I just need to know if it will fit my top bearing . Here's a picture of the part

According to Kawasaki.com the 1979 KZ750-B4 and 1980 KZ750-E1 share the same part numbers for steering stem lock (nut) and washer. Both parts are still available from Kawasaki if you need them. Ed

Okay thanks, Also, the ring clip the goes over the bearing on the front wheel . Is it necessary? will it be okay with spacers on without that ring clip in it ?i don't see why not but who knows .

You need to have those "ring clips" in place. Consider this - the spacers only line up with the inner races of the bearings, so they cannot prevent the outer races from moving. Those ring clips ensure the outer races are kept in the exact correct position. If the outer races were to somehow gradually drift outward they would cause the ball bearings to place lateral stress on the inner and outer races, and the bearings aren't designed for that type stress so they would fail prematurely, and that could be bad for the rider. And that's why I asked haha . You wouldn't happen to know where to buy that replacement ring for the one side would you ? The other side didn't have one just the side with the brake I think.
I bought one from the hArdware store but it was off alittle bit.

If you mean the part marked "13" in the diagram below, according to Kawasaki.com it is still an "Active" part, so any dealer can get it for you. Ed
