I have a75 KZ900 that I'm rebuilding. I want to replace the swing arm and front forks with a newer model year,so that I can add larger tiress/rims and better brakes, but I don't know which swing arm/forks are interchangeable or which require minimal customization... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Understand that the KZ900s are worth some money stock. I don't tell anyone what to do with their bike. I mention this because often times the passenger pegs get in the way of a wider swing arm and need to be cut of. Once you start cutting the restore is out the window. Just my 2 cents. I'm not positive if the KZ900 is the same as the KZ1000 as far as the swing arm goes. if so the 89ish GSXR swing arm is a bolt on with some spacers. I am able to get a 170/60/17 on my 77KZ1000. Others here will chime in and get you some specific details.

Good luck!

Hello, Oldskool9, and WELCOME to KZr! :cheer:

If the bike at hand is a 1975 model, it would most likely be a Z1 and not a KZ900, as KZ900 was introduced in 1976 as replacement for the Z1.

Am uncertain to what extent the model differences might be significant in relation to the modifications being considered.

Perhaps the bike at hand is a Z1 with the original Z1 engine having been replaced with a KZ900 engine.

Good Fortune! :)
