1980 KZ1000 Drag Bar Install Help was created by ChopFinger123
Im trying to get a set of drag bars installed on my 1980 KZ1000 Shaft and Im having some trouble. I can get everything on but the front master cylinder is my problem. It is hitting the RPM tach which isn't really a problem (i don't think anyway) but the brake line seems to be too long and i can't get it mounted like it is now.
If anyone has done this mod and has some advice it would be greatly appreciated and if someone hasalready asked this and been answered point me to the answer lol. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Need to get everything mounted up, measure out what length you need and source a new shorter brake hose for your bike

Thanks. Id really like to go to stainless braided line anyway. I think this whole front brake set up is FUBAR.

Too Bad, day late and 20 dollars to short.
I just sold this yesterday on ebay with a buy it now.
Went down to Florida.
13" line with a 90 degree banjo.
Plus pull your throttle assembly back a little, down the bar about an inch. Give you a little more room.
This is what just sold.

Does anyone know if i can put a smaller master cylinder on the front?
I think that would fix all the problems.

Drag bars come in differant widths, make sure to get the right ones.

I think I've got it figured out. The new grips i bought for the bars are about a 1/2" shorter than factory grips. So i have to cut the throttle control off a little bit and it should all fit about right. I may still have to put a 90* banjo on it but Im gonna replace the lines anyway.
