You were fortunate. Mine was a bear to get off. But the most trouble I had was the race on the bottom of the steering neck. I used a long punch and got it from the top. But id didn't want to come out evenly. and left burs on the inner diameter which I had to deal with afterwards. If I had to do it again, I would put a heat gun or torch onto the bottom of the neck to expand it a bit and then tap it out. Didn't do that cause I didn't want to damage the paint on the neck. But in retrospect, I could done a quick respray in that area afterwords. Would have saved me a lot of grief. Hope yours is much easier coming out.

On mine a chisel has always taken it right off, as the stem is tapered and only takes a small amount of movement to pop off the race. Otherwise harbor freight sells their Chinese bearing splitter tool kit for a good price that works fine.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.
