The shaft frame is very wide at the swingarm, you could do a chain conversion, put a modern swingarm in there and widen your choice of wheels.

I've seen a few conversions, but I don't want to go that route. I want to keep it a shaft if ($$$$) possible.

You might be able to fit a 140 tire on a st but that will be it.
Any wider will rub the driveshaft tube.

I have a 130/90/17 on it now. I think my next tire size will be a 140/80/17. I hope it will fit. The original 90 series tire is tall. I want to go a little shorter, and wider.

One day I want to have a set of spoke wheels, custom made. That's why I was asking. I like the older look of spokes. Mags, make a KZ look like a old bike with new wheels. Not a fan of that look.

I'm re-hashing this thread to Thank Nebr_ Rex! He's right! Ima have to look into swapping to a chain and different swing arm. Any ideas on swingarms? Aftermarket, or off a different bike? Any successes or failures?
