Guys, I found some airshocks off an LTD. I believe they are stock. What would be the reason for having airshocks on your bike? Heavy passengers? Maybe adjustable ride height?

The 'standard' adjustment for shocks is to change the spring pre-load. Air shocks give you that capability without having to change anything physical on the bike.

Any idea on how much travel they give? My idea is to use them for ride height adjustments.

I put a set on my LTD and don't notice any measurable height change.

They are really intended just for preload sag, so you can vary the amount of pressure depending on how much weight is on the bike. For example, you would increase the pressure if you had a passenger, or decrease it for riding solo.

.

Might need a set of helper springs in that case or either double up on the air shocks. :( :( :(
