Can someone post a pic of a 78 KZ1000A2A seat
10 Jan 2014 09:33
I did not get one with my bike. I don't know what it looks like to find one. Did they have a flat seat for the 78 KZ1000A2A ? I don't want the high stepped seat but a slight raise would be fine. Does the seat fit up to the curve on the rear fender or does it go over it?

Seat would be flat like the KZ900(1976). My 80 KZ1000 Ltd would have used the stepped seat which I never cared for so I bought a repro flat style for the KZ900 and it fits perfectly. I believe after 1980 was the major changes in frames and such.
It will go over the rear tail.

Here's my '78. I can't remember if the seat is from a 900 or 1000 but the pans should be the same.

I can see in you guys pics that SBCs has a strap and Streetfighters don't. Is the strap an add on or was this a year difference? I love the factory pleat style.

10 Jan 2014 21:20Am thinking -- but not positive -- that the strap version was mostly on non-USA models.HAFROD wrote: I can see in you guys pics that SBCs has a strap and Streetfighters don't. Is the strap an add on or was this a year difference? I love the factory pleat style.

Yes, I agree. I believe the euro models have the strap. U.S./Canadian versions don't.
