Footrest problem
12 Nov 2013 01:20
I've just ordered some kawi 440 footrest and tried to test them out. The guy i got the bike from had some ugly aftermaket rest on there, now i cant seem to get them sitting right. righthand side seems to be sitting to far forward.
Am i doing something wrong here or has the conection point been moved forward to suit the aftermarkets?

Oh dear...it would be ok if you had a short right foot and a long left one.

Look like you got two lefties, or the right one has the rubber piece flipped upside down.... :silly:

Thats what i was thinking, i think i have two left side footrest. It cant be that the rubber is on upside down because the right footrest sits too far forward.
I still think the conecting point has been modified
are the connecting points in line on the frame? or has the previous owner moved one

12 Nov 2013 07:25 - 12 Nov 2013 07:32Maybe, maybe not. The ball of the foot needs to be able to press down on the brake pedal.Stazi wrote: Looks like you have to mount it on the the bolt behind where you did - the one with the nut on it it your picture
Having said that, who knows what the po did to the bike? I hope his welding skills were up to snuff, because a hard tail is going to take a beating.

It looks like it should sit in the place where the nut is, but it forsure didnt come from there as there is no flush surface for it to pull up hard onto.
And not that i know yet as i havent droppend the motor out, but i thought where the nut is is coming from the other side and is a attachment point for motor

I think the left footrest is in the pivot chamber upside down. If you pull the pivot (fold-up) pin (90243A in the diagram), you should be able to flip the footrest over, which should bring you into line.

I think what may have happened is PO moved left hand side back as the side stand now sits in front of the footrest. and as for the right side he has some other brake pedal so there is not enough clearance.
What say you guys?
