Luggage Rack for 1981 KZ1300

I couldn't find a commercially available rack so I decided that an aluminum one would do. I still need to add the cross members but they'll be easy. So far it weighs in at 3.5 pounds.








The cross members and a little detailing and I'll be ready for some powder coating.

What do you think?

That's a very strong looking rack Bill. The welds look really nice, great work. It looks like you made it with a certain dimension for a Box or something to fit onto it. What's going onto it? A trunk Box? That would give you some room to haul a few extras with you.

I welded in the cross members this morning. I'll post some pics after I detail the welds.

I finished up the cross bars and cleaned up some of the welds a bit. Others are rough but structurally sound. Right now it's too bright, soon it will dull out but it won't be right till it's gloss black.
