What to do About a Torn Dust Boot
23 Sep 2013 19:23
I've got a torn dust boot - the rear master cylinder.
I can't find them available anywhere. Kawasaki.com says it's discontinued. I've checked a few aftermarket sites with no luck yet. The same part number was used on '76-'79 KZ750... but that was it. Which is probably why it's a tough find. I haven't dug up anything on eBay either.
So... if I am unable to find one. What are my options?
Thanks!

If all else fails,
Check an auto parts store the carries "HELP" products.
They make all kinds of stuff like that.
I don't know if they are online, but it's a DORMAN co.

www.gearhead.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=43024-002
Appears to allow adding 43024-002 to the cart, as if one is available.
Might want to give'em a call.
Good Fortune!

Partzilla lists 43024-002 as PRODUCT OBSOLETE. I searched the part number on ebbaayy w no luck.
If there's a Kawasaki dealer nearby, try asking them to do a search. Kaw dealers supposedly have a nationwide product search that may turn up something if a dealer somewhere happens to have an otherwise Cancelled part listed in their system.
Some other models have the same brake rod, piston assy, & primary cup, so perhaps you could use the boot from one of those? For example, the 1978 KZ1000-C1 Police - the dust boot should still be available - #43024-003 is listed as Active at Kawasaki.com.
